Architecture & History

Angel Stadium opened in 1966 as Anaheim Stadium. Originally an outdoor baseball-only venue, it was enclosed for the Rams from 1980-1994, then "de-enclosed" in a 1998 renovation that restored its open-air feel.

Insider Tips

01

The One Thing

Get garlic fries and find a seat with a view of the left-center field rock and waterfall display. When the geyser fires on a home run, hold the garlic fries and watch.

02

The Rally Monkey

Watch the video board when the Angels need a late-inning rally. The Rally Monkey still appears and the crowd responds.

03

Arrive Early

Walk the exterior to see the Big A scoreboard structure with the halo. In the evening with the Orange County sky, it is the most Southern California thing.

04

Wahoo's and Garlic Fries

Wahoo's fish tacos and garlic fries are the two non-negotiable Angel Stadium food items. Both Southern California originals.

05

Parking Reality

Angel Stadium is car-centric on the freeway corridor. Most fans drive. Parking lots open 2.5 hours before game time.

06

Best Value Seat

Terrace sections 418–428 along the right field line. Good sight lines, lowest prices, rock and waterfall display visible at an angle.
