Architecture & History

Blue Wahoos Stadium opened in 2012 on Pensacola's downtown bayfront, a purpose-built facility designed by DAG Architects. It replaced decades without affiliated baseball in the Gulf Coast city.

The stadium is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful minor league parks in America. Its position on Pensacola Bay provides stunning water views from nearly every seat, with sailboats and dolphins frequently visible during games.

The ballpark catalyzed Pensacola's downtown waterfront redevelopment. It sits adjacent to Community Maritime Park and is a short walk from Palafox Street, the city's historic main thoroughfare.

Insider Tips

01

The One Thing

Order the Gulf shrimp basket and arrive in time to watch the sunset over Pensacola Bay from your seat. The bay turns gold and then pink behind the outfield wall. This is the most cinematically beautiful moment at any Double-A park.

02

Blue Angels

Check whether the Blue Angels are running training flights before the game — their schedule is online. If they're flying, position yourself on the first base side for the best view of their formation passes over NAS Pensacola.

03

Pensacola Beach

Pensacola Beach is across the Bay Bridge — 25 minutes. Dr. Beach has consistently rated it among the country's finest beaches for its white quartz sand. A morning on the beach followed by an evening Blue Wahoos game is the complete itinerary.

04

Parking Reality

Blue Wahoos Stadium has adjacent surface parking on Cedar Street and along the Pensacola waterfront. Downtown Pensacola is compact and accessible.

05

Best Value Seat

Any seat is the best seat — the park is small enough (5,038 capacity) that the bay is visible from everywhere. The right field bleachers have the most unobstructed bay view.
