Insider Tips

01

The One Thing

Eat a Coney Dog from American Coney Island's stand. Two Coney Dogs — natural-casing beef frank, beanless meat chili, yellow mustard, diced white onion. American Coney Island has been on Lafayette Street since 1917.

02

The Detroit Style Pizza

Buddy's Detroit-style pizza — thick, square, cheese-caramelised edge crust — is the other mandatory Comerica food. Buddy's invented the style in 1946.

03

The Tiger Plaza Walk

Arrive early to walk the main entrance Tiger Plaza and look at each bronze statue — Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Charlie Gehringer, Al Kaline, and Willie Horton.

04

Bell's Two Hearted Ale

Bell's Two Hearted Ale at the Brew Detroit Tap Room. Voted best beer in America multiple times. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

05

Parking Reality

The QLine streetcar runs along Woodward Avenue. Multiple parking garages available. The post-game Midtown restaurant district is the best in the AL Central.

06

Best Value Seat

Upper deck sections 330–347 along the first base line. The deep center field (420 ft) is appreciated from elevation and tiger scoreboard statues are in sightline.
