Architecture & History

Daikin Park (formerly Momentum Bank Ballpark) opened in 2002 in Midland, Texas, replacing the aging Christensen Stadium. The park brought modern amenities to West Texas baseball.

The RockHounds name celebrates the region's geological riches—Midland sits atop the Permian Basin, one of the world's most productive oil fields. The franchise has operated since 1972.

Midland's economy is driven by the oil and gas industry, giving the city a boom-town energy. The park sits in a commercial district and features wide concourses designed for the region's intense summer heat.
