GREENVILLE DRIVE

Fluor Field

Greenville, SCEst. 20065,700 seatsHigh-A

Fluor Field is a replica of Fenway Park in miniature — the Green Monster left field wall (30 feet vs. Fenway's 37), the manual scoreboard, the red seat marking Ted Williams' longest home run, and the Fenway-inspired brick and steel architecture are all deliberately reproduced in Greenville, South Carolina. The Drive are the Red Sox High-A affiliate, and the park is one of the most architecturally ambitious stadium builds in minor league history. Downtown Greenville's extraordinary revitalisation makes Fluor Field the best urban baseball experience in the Carolinas.

Architecture & History

Fluor Field at the West End opened in 2006 in Greenville, SC and is most famous for its deliberate Fenway Park replica design — a 37-foot left field Green Monster complete with manual scoreboard. Designed by Greenville-area architect Craig Gaulden Davis.

The left field wall was built to the same proportions as Fenway Park's 37-foot Green Monster, at a scale that works for a 5,000-seat ballpark. The distance markers, manual scoreboard, and warning track all mirror the Fenway original.

The hand-operated scoreboard is maintained in the same style as Fenway's original, updated by groundskeepers during games. Foul balls produce the same distinctive metallic clank.

The Food

MUST TRY

New England Lobster Roll

Fluor Field is Fenway Park in South Carolina. The food must acknowledge Boston. A New England lobster roll — cold Maine lobster with mayonnaise on a buttered, toasted New England split-top roll — is the most specifically Boston food available at any High-A park.

Boiled Peanuts

The Beer

Fluor Field has an outstanding Greenville craft presence. Brewery 85, Swamp Rabbit Brewing, and Birds Fly South are the anchors of one of the Southeast's most vibrant craft scenes.
