Insider Tips

01

The One Thing

Get a Maxwell Street Polish from Jim's Original. Jim's has been making the Maxwell Street Polish since 1939. Eating one is a South Side Chicago act.

02

Connie's Thin Crust

Connie's Pizza thin crust, cut tavern style into squares. This is South Side Chicago pizza — the authentic Chicago pizza experience.

03

The Scoreboard Moment

When the White Sox hit a home run, watch the center field scoreboard. The pinwheel spins and fireworks fire — a tradition since 1960.

04

Arrive Early

Walk across 35th Street and find the home plate marker in the parking lot that indicates where old Comiskey Park's home plate was located.

05

Parking Reality

The Sox-35th Red Line station is directly adjacent. From the Loop, the Red Line takes 15 minutes. The CTA is the correct way.

06

Best Value Seat

Upper level sections 520–533 along the first base line. The 2001 renovation improved these significantly. Good sight lines and the exploding scoreboard is visible.
