PORTLAND SEA DOGS
Hadlock Field
Hadlock Field is the northernmost Double-A park in the Eastern League — in Portland, Maine, the city that gave America craft beer (Allagash White, Shipyard, Geary's), the best restaurant scene per capita in the country, and a genuine food city identity anchored by the Maine lobster industry. The Sea Dogs are the Red Sox AA affiliate — the pipeline from Hadlock to Fenway runs through the most food-serious small city in America. Monster seats replicated in miniature adorn the Green Monster wall in left field.

Architecture & History
Hadlock Field opened in 1994 as the home of the Portland Sea Dogs, bringing affiliated baseball back to Maine. Designed by Sasaki Associates, the park was built to fit snugly into Portland's Deering Oaks neighborhood.
Named for Edson B. Hadlock Jr., a local baseball supporter, the field features a classic brick exterior and an intimate bowl. The Maine Monster—a replica of Fenway's Green Monster—was added in left field to reinforce the Red Sox connection.
Portland's vibrant food and arts scene makes Hadlock Field games a full-evening experience. The park sits within walking distance of the Old Port district, one of New England's premier dining and nightlife destinations.

Sun & Weather Guide

Casco Bay evenings — Atlantic coast cool
Portland summer evening games are the best weather in the Eastern League. Maine's Atlantic coast keeps summer temperatures at 70-80°F. The evening sea breeze from Casco Bay makes Hadlock Field uniquely comfortable.
LF wall — 37-ft Maine Monster with Monster Seats
The Maine Monster — Hadlock's 37-foot left field wall replica of Fenway's Green Monster — catches the last light at evening games. Monster Seats atop the wall are the park's premium experience.
Maine summer — cooler than any other EL city
Even summer day games in Portland are milder than anywhere else on the Eastern League calendar. The Atlantic coast moderates Maine temperatures significantly.
Maine shoulder seasons — cold, be prepared
April and September games in Portland require genuine cold-weather preparation. Maine spring is cold and extends late.
Insider Tips
The One Thing
Order a Maine lobster roll and an Allagash White or Bissell Brothers The Substance, and find seats near the Maine Monster. The lobster roll at Hadlock Field is a legitimately excellent version of the definitive Maine food.
Portland Old Port Before the Game
Portland's Old Port is 10 minutes from Hadlock Field. The restaurant density per square mile — James Beard nominees and winners across the district — is extraordinary for a city of 70,000. Arrive early, eat well, then walk to the park.
The Maine Monster Seats
Monster Seats atop the 37-foot Maine Monster left field wall are Hadlock Field's premium experience and worth the upgrade. The view is the best in the park; the connection to Fenway's Green Monster is explicit.
Maine Red Snappers
The 'red snapper' hot dog — a natural-casing frank dyed bright red, unique to Maine — is the correct hot dog at a Maine baseball game. It snaps when you bite through the casing. Order one.
Best Value Seat
Third base lower grandstand — the Maine Monster is directly in front of you, the evening light on the wall is dramatic, and the view includes the park's best sight lines. With a lobster roll and an Allagash White.
