Architecture & History
Hammons Field opened in 2004 in downtown Springfield, Missouri, as part of developer John Q. Hammons' vision for the city center. It replaced aging Ozarks Stadium.
The Cardinals affiliation connects Springfield to St. Louis baseball tradition. Hammons Field has hosted the Texas League All-Star Game and earned praise for its intimate atmosphere and excellent sightlines.
Springfield is the third-largest city in Missouri and a regional hub for the Ozarks. The ballpark is adjacent to Missouri State University and within walking distance of downtown restaurants and attractions.

Insider Tips
The One Thing
Order the Ozark smoked pork ribs and a Springfield Brewing Doppelbock and find a seat in the lower grandstand on a September evening. The Ozark Plateau in early fall is the best baseball weather in the Texas League North.
Bass Pro Shops
The Bass Pro Shops flagship store is 1 mile away. 500,000 square feet. A 4-story waterfall. A freshwater aquarium. An indoor shooting range. Four million visitors per year. It is 1 mile from a Double-A baseball park.
Andy's Frozen Custard
Andy's Frozen Custard — Missouri egg-yolk-based frozen custard, denser and richer than ice cream — was founded in Springfield in 1986. Order it at the park stand as the correct Missouri dessert.
Parking Reality
Hammons Field has surface parking adjacent to the stadium along Trafficway Street. Springfield is car-oriented and parking is not a problem.
Best Value Seat
Third base lower grandstand — the Cardinals pipeline view, Ozark BBQ access from the main concourse, and comfortable elevation away from the infield sun. Evening game in shoulder season.
