BILOXI SHUCKERS
MGM Park
MGM Park opened in 2015 after a 54-game road trip — the longest opening road trip in professional baseball history. The park sits on the Gulf of Mexico in Biloxi — a city of casino resorts, Gulf Coast seafood culture, and Vietnamese-American fishing communities. The Shuckers name references the oyster shucking tradition of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Architecture & History
MGM Park opened in 2015 on Biloxi's Back Bay, bringing affiliated baseball to Mississippi's Gulf Coast for the first time. The park was built to withstand hurricane-force winds, reflecting hard lessons from Katrina.
The Shuckers name celebrates the region's seafood heritage. MGM Park's design incorporates Gulf Coast architectural motifs and features sweeping views of Biloxi's Back Bay from the concourse.
Located near Biloxi's casino district and a short drive from white-sand Gulf beaches, the park draws a mix of baseball fans and vacationers. Post-Katrina Biloxi has embraced the Shuckers as a symbol of community resilience.

Insider Tips
The One Thing
Order Gulf Coast oysters on the half shell at the oyster bar with Tabasco and a Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Brown Ale. You are at a park named the Shuckers, 1 mile from the Gulf of Mexico. The oysters are from these waters.
Vietnamese Bánh Mì
The Vietnamese-Gulf shrimp bánh mì is the most unexpected food at any Double-A park. Biloxi's Vietnamese-American community rebuilt the Gulf fishing industry after the Vietnam War. Their food tradition meeting Gulf shrimp on French bread is specific to this city.
Mississippi Delta Tamales
The Delta hot tamale — brought to the Mississippi Delta by Mexican railroad workers, absorbed by Black Southern food culture, now a Mississippi tradition — is at the tamale stand. It is wetter, smaller, and spicier than any Mexican tamale you've had.
Parking Reality
MGM Park has adjacent surface parking and casino parking nearby. Biloxi's casino resort district is car-oriented. Parking is accessible within 5 minutes of the park.
Best Value Seat
First base lower grandstand — Gulf breeze from the south, oyster bar access from the main concourse, and the most complete Gulf view. Evening game only. The Gulf heat makes afternoon games genuinely unpleasant in peak summer.
