HILLSBORO HOPS
Ron Tonkin Field
Ron Tonkin Field is the D-backs' High-A affiliate in Hillsboro, Oregon — in the heart of the Tualatin Valley, the Silicon Forest of Oregon's technology corridor, and the world's most important hop-growing region. The Hops name references the Willamette Valley's dominance of American hop production — Oregon and Washington grow 75% of American hops. The Silicon Forest context (Intel's largest campus is in Hillsboro) makes the Hops the most technologically employed fan base in High-A West.
