Architecture & History

Southwest University Park was designed by Populous and opened April 27, 2014 in downtown El Paso. No other stadium in affiliated baseball can see a foreign country from the outfield.

The El Paso–Ciudad Juárez binational metropolitan area (approximately 2.7 million) is one of the largest binational urban areas in the world.

The Chihuahuas name references the Chihuahuan Desert — the largest North American desert — and the dog breed originating from that region.
