WILSON WARBIRDS
Wilson Ballpark
Architecture & History
Wilson Ballpark is brand-new construction, opening in April 2026 as part of downtown Wilson's revitalization initiative. It is the most recently built professional baseball stadium in the Carolina League.
The Warbirds' aviation identity draws from Vollis Simpson, the Wilson-born WWII Army Air Corps veteran and outsider artist whose massive whirligig sculptures anchor the Wilson Whirligig Park downtown. The ballpark design incorporates the whirligig aesthetic in its concourse art.
