Architecture & History

Riverfront Stadium opened in 2021 along the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita, Kansas, bringing affiliated baseball back to the city after a long absence. The Wind Surge arrived as a relocated franchise from New Orleans.

Wichita's baseball history includes the legendary Wichita Aeros. Riverfront Stadium was designed by Populous with a modern aesthetic featuring a dramatic canopy roof structure and 360-degree concourse.

The ballpark anchors a major riverfront redevelopment in downtown Wichita. The adjacent area includes restaurants, hotels, and the revitalized Delano neighborhood, one of the city's most walkable districts.
